The Multi-Feeder Selector Unit  is designed to allow communications with several Code of Practice 3 & 5 electricity meters via one telephone line. It operates by monitoring the communications from an attached modem. When it detects a command sequence, the required channel relay closes allowing communications with the meter on that channel.

This allows the collection of data from differing meters without having to drop the telephone line. The Multi-Feeder Selector Unit is metering protocol independent, and is designed to work in conjunction with MV90.

With the addition of a plug-in module, the unit provides pulse summation facilities, allowing for example summated kVAh to be calculated across a two feeder site with relay output. The summation characteristics are programmable allowing upto 6 input channels and 2 output relays.

Features:

  • The unit is designed to operate from either 110V or 230V supply via selectable links.
  • Simple RS232 3 wire operation, provides DCD signal to meters if required.
  • Selected RS232 rate option, 1200, 2400, 4800 or 9600 baud.
  • Simple configuration via RS232 terminal eg. Windows Hyperterminal
  • Watchdog monitor to ensure reliable remote operations.
  • Can be cascaded to allow 8 metering devices on one PSTN line.
  • All connections to the unit are by a two-part PCB plug/socket arrangement with screw terminals for ease of installation.
  • Visual indication of selected channel to assist in communications diagnostics.
  • Unit designed for long term remote operations with diagnostic capability.
